I need some help downloading

Ok I'm guna try downloading the Auctioneer addon I setup a new file to save it in. So I downloaded now what? For some reason the addon only works on my alt and all it does is show me where certain places are is that all it does?

I'v also tried downloading the quest addon but I dont know how to use it
