Phase 3 (25% health)

  • Halazzi uses all abilities from the previous phases together.
  • He also enrages, dealing increased melee damage.

Strategy:

This fight is all about tank positioning, healer longevity and DPS alertness. It is advised that you have 3 healers for this fight, 1 per tank and an offhealer to fill in gaps/heal the raid.

Positioning:
Its best for the tanks to move as a pair and pull Halazzi back near where the ramp leading in his room is between the pillars. The reason for this is that the boss starts hitting hard very quickly and so turning him, moving him, etc isnt a good idea and can result in tanks dying early. Melee need to stay behind him at all times to avoid the possibility of being hit with his [spell=43267]Saber Lash[/spell]. Range classes should spread out around the room in anticipation for Phase 2 abilities so that [spell=43302]Lightning Totem[/spell] does as little damage to the raid as possible when cast. Having healers spread out evenly is also a must as phase 2 will require most of the raid to be in range of dispells and heals for survival.

Phase 1:
At the start of the fight, Halazzi will be in merged form. During this time he has only 2 abilities he uses which basically are the focus on the tanks. It is imperative that both tanks stack on one another whenever Halazzi is in this form of the main tank can easily be taken down in 1-2 hits with the [spell=43267]Saber Lash[/spell]. Its important for healers to heal both tanks back up to full as quickly as possible and keep both tanks topped off at all times as this boss hits VERY hard and VERY quickly. Using abilities like [spell=25203]Demoralizing Shout[/spell], [spell=25264]Thunder Clap[/spell], [spell=3043]Scorpid Sting[/spell], etc stacked on the boss at all times during this phase is a good idea to help decrease the amount of damage done to the tank.

When the boss uses his [spell=43139]Frenzy[/spell] ability, it is important that Hunter's in the raid use [spell=19801]Tranquilizing Shot[/spell] to remove it quickly as his damage on the tanks is greatly increased. If you have no hunter present, tanks should use special abilities and trinkets to try and minimize the damage done to them.

Phase 2:
This phase begins when the merged avatar form of Halazzi is brought to 75%, 50%, and 25% health (tho 25% is considered Phase 3). At the beginning of this phase he will split into his troll and spirit lynx forms and use his [spell=44054]Transfigure[/spell] ability doing AOE damage to the raid so it is important that the raid stay topped off in health.

This phase is very hectic on the healers so everyone in the raid needs to be alert. The second tank needs to pick up the Lynx avatar immediately or it will run around and kill the raid. The Lynx is tauntable and it should be brought near the boss so that its less distance for the second tank to move when Halazzi enters Phase 1 again. The raid DPS needs to focus down the Lynx avatar as its easier to kill since it has 10% less total HP than the Troll form and the quicker you transition back into Phase 1, the easier it will be for the raid to manage this boss.

Tanks can use a macro to make it easier to pick up the Lynx avatar as soon as it spawns like follows:
/cleartarget
/targetexact Spirit of the Lynx
/cast [exists] Taunt
/target [noexists] Halazzi

Corrupted Lightning Totems:
During Phase 2, the boss will cast [spell=43302]Lightning Totem[/spell] which will cast a chain lightning bolt on random raid members until it is killed. DPS needs to burn this totem down as soon as it is cast to minimize the damage done to the raid.

You can use a macro to target the totem as follows:

/target Corrupted Lightning Totem

Flame Shock and Earth Shock:

During Phase 2 and at Phase 3, Halazzi will randomly target raid members and cast [spell=43303]Flame Shock[/spell] and [spell=43305]Earth Shock[/spell]. [spell=43303]Flame Shock[/spell] needs to be dispelled on any raid members as soon as possible as its DoT damage is very high (about 4k a tick). In addition, healers need to keep the raid topped off to avoid people being killed from the initial casts of both shock spells and the occasional [spell=43302]Lightning Totem[/spell] attacks.

Phase 3:
When Halazzi hits 25% health he starts using his abilities from Phase 1 and 2 together as well as slightly enraging so hitting the tanks even harder than Phase 1 alone. Its best to burn him down to death as quickly as possible as this phase is basically a timer until the healers can no longer keep up with the damage output being done to the tanks and raid. Using any damage mitigating abilities on him to reduce his damage to the tanks is greatly helpful on this phase as well.
