This is the best website related to rogue gear that I have found yet... http://www.shadowpanther.net/

Is there a preview, or do you have to buy it without viewing a portion?

I just use the armor charts - all of it is free.

Going through the DPS charts, it's a little scary to see how undergeared I am even with something off of most of those lists.

Shadowpanther is a very valuable resource, but it's not meant to be used by itself. When I was gearing up my rogue for kara, I wound up resorting to the WoW Realm posts- and we all know how fruitless that can be. That's why I am going to give a brief rundown of ENTRY based raiding gear. Please keep in mind that this is for all the rogues out there that want to get into kara and execute nice entry level dps. This semi-list is based off of what I looked out for at the time I was gearing for kara.

The Fel Leather Set: http://thottbot.com/?s=fel+leather+
This set is VERY VERY good entry level rogue raiding gear. While it fails to provide stamina, it does have terrific amounts of raiding rogue stats such as crit, AP and hit. As for gems, I'd strongly suggest blue gems- dependent on spec. Assuming only combat based specs- daggers: +8 hit and (+4hit +4agil) orange gem. Swords/fists: +8 hit and +8agil OR +16 AP. Trust me when I say go for the good gems. Why? I have NEVER ONCE seen the legs drop off Netherspite (and as an entry level raid rogue I don't think you'd get to him fast anyway). I have also never seen the edgewalker long boots drop. As for gloves, sure curator drops the token, but its getting you particular token to drop that will kill you softly. This set will hold you until you can get your share of kara drops or badge rewards.

Shoulders and Chestpiece: http://thottbot.com/?set=577 9or w/e season is currently available for honor)
The S1 shoulders and chestpiece are good additions because they provide nice chunks of stamina and crit chance. In my own personal opinion, I would try to limit the amount of pvp gear you include in your raid set because a majority of pvp gear just won't cut it in pve. The reason is because pvp is designed to have more stam to survive hits and crit to bypass resil. On average, pvp gear will have more Stam/Crit Chance than pve gear. Pve gear will almost always have more AP, Hit and raw Agility (which is good because of the dual function it performs- it increases AP and crit chance in more or a "natural" way). My advice to pvp gear in pvp- try not to use more than 3 pieces total, that's including the season set, neck pieces, rings and trinkets. Pvp trinkets are garbage for pvp- you can get more use out of the uniting charm. The only ring I'd suggest is the one that gives the 84 armor pen, and even then that's a stretch.

I'll post more later.

For bracers, try to get http://thottbot.com/i33540
Though these bracers is a badge reward, it's on the low end of the list. For 41 (?) badges, you get a GREAT raiding bracers. These bracers will hold you until deep into end game raiding conent (namely Hjyal/BT). As for sockets, I would strongly suggest +8/10 hit or even the orange gem. As for an enchant, I would say Assault hands down.

For a neck piece get  http://thottbot.com/i34679
This neck piece is very good due to its nice amount of AP. The proc is the only downfall of this gear piece. If you're Aldor, you get +200 AP for 10 secs (?). However, if you're Scryers, you get an arcane blast sort of effect that hits normally for 350 ARCANE dmg. Arcane is in caps because this will get resisted by bosses that resist arcane dmg (Curator comes to mind). Being a scryer, I am disappointed : / However, regardless of faction affiliation, this neck piece is a great starter neck (if you check my armory profile, I have one :D ). If you feel the need to (ie if you really need the hit) you can use this necklace until you get enough badges for the band of vile agression OR the worgen claw necklace off of Attumen. But according to shadowpanther, either version of the SSO dps neck is a very good raid piece for rogues.

For a belt  http://thottbot.com/i30372 OR if you have the resources  http://thottbot.com/i30040
Socrethar's Girdle, a quest reward for killing Socrethar in netherstorm as part of you Aldor/Scryer quest chains, is a very good belt for entry level rogues. It has alll the necessary raid stats and is attainable through a simple group quest.
The Belt of Deep Shadow is, in many cases, THE belt to get before any heavy raiding is done (ie 25 man content...Vashj is annoying, and T6 is a distant dream). While I do understand that the badge belt, according to shadowpanther, is slightly better than this belt, chances are you are saving badges for trinkets or other items. This belt is a dream as the mats are attainable (vortexes cost 15 badges a piece and the AH usually has them for 375-450g last time I checked). Very important to say that you really want to stay away from the double blue sockets. Instead, try for AP, Hit or Agil. If you check me in the armory, I actually have the H MGT quest reward gem and the yellow pvp gem.

Rings:  http://thottbot.com/i30040 and http://thottbot.com/i29280
The first ring is the pvp ring. The honor cost isn't terrible in the least and it offers stamina, crit chance and even armor pen.
The second ring is the first tier of the kara ring. Before they nixxed kara attunement, you were guaranteed to get this ring if you were keyed. While not the most pretty of stats, it does offer Hit and AP and is one of the best entry level raid rings you can get. Improved reputation with Violet Eye will net you better and better upgrades of this ring. Since you will be running kara for additional/better drops, this ring will be worth your while to get- even if you don't need the key to get in. As for enchants, I would strongly suggest +4 stats to all if you're enchanting is high enough. If not, you'll have to bide your time until you can clear up to chess, where you can access a giant ehteral dealer for the enchant recipe-major striking for rings (adds 2 weapon dmg PER ring). But ideally, +4 stats to all is the way to go. Remember, only enchanters can enchant their rings. Besides, being a rogue enchanter really cuts down on mongoose costs :)

Trinkets http://thottbot.com/i28121 and http://thottbot.com/i28034 or http://thottbot.com/i28288
The icon of unyielding courage is a great trinket to have because it gives, I believe, the 2nd highest hit rating on a trinket in game (the first is romulo's poison vial). Moreover, the armor pen effect is a wonderful addition to dps. The hit rating itself accounts to about 2% chance to hit.
The Hourglass I have mixed feelings about. While BM isn't hard- at least with the right group comp.- the drop rate is infamously low. The proc itself has a 5% chance PER critical strike to take effect. However, the AP boost is nice as well as the crit strike chance.
The Abacus is a trink I would value over the hourglass because it is a buff you are sure to get every 2 mins. The haste is nice because it compensates for the relatively low hit rating by giving more opportunities to strike in a given time window.
Notice that I did not include the Bloodlust Brooch because I strongly suggest getting the bbadge bracers first as you will have the bracers for a long, long time.

As for weapons, there is no excuse for not being able to get thes2 daggers/swords/fists. If you're looking for bg company let me know, in between raids Im bored. In the way of enchants, get double +20 agilty. This enchant provides a cost effective dps boost as it provides +1% chance to crit and 40 AP. Overtime, you can progress to 20 Agil MH and mongoose OH. Finally, you'll be able to get double mongoose (which, if you are not an enchanter is very expensive, roughly 450-500g per mongoose). Double mongoose is currently the best weapon enchant setup atm.

Helm  http://thottbot.com/i31109 or http://thottbot.com/i28182
Of the two I'd strongly suggest the stealther's helm because, if gemmed properly, it will last you until t4. I remember back when I was running through kara for the first few times, I had this helm and gemmed it with the ap and stam blue gem, +8 hit and +16 AP. This lasted me until I got the t4 helm. The helm of the claw might be easier to get and does boast a meta socket. Ultimately, the choice is yours as to which one to get. As for enchants, GET the CE revered head enchant. It gives 34 AP and 16 Hit Rating- perfect for a raid based enchant.

As for enchants for the shoulders, use the best version of the dps inscription offered to you by the scryer or aldor people. For the chest, get +6 stats to all.

I know this list might look fragmented and incomplete, but it was the though process I used when I was gearing up. Hope it helps any.
