Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but how do I link an item from mmo-champs dbase? They have a lot of ptr items that are not on wowheads site.
The special popup [ wowitem] tags only work with Wowhead items.
You can use a normal [ url=someplace]hey, check this out[ /url] if you wish, but will only display a link people can click on, nothing will popup.
Mmo champ datamines the vast majority of its item DB and also has no reliable way to sort some of its duplicate items, so I have no plans to support item links from that site at this time.
Wowhead has a PTR site of its own @ http://ptr.wowhead.com
You can link items from it manually till we find the time to generate an easy 1 click button for it.

I'm using my phone to post this atm so I can't easily explain the above code. Basically if you type an item name, user the "url" BBCode to link it to the PTR site address, the mouseover will work, it just won't colorize the item.
