Title: I R Holydin
Post by: capnpop on October 12, 2008, 08:56:49 PM
my deep holy spec: http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?talent=sxAbg0zhVuMxRtaZV

infinite mana FoL build: http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?talent=sxA0xZZVf0trIzcrsM0h  (they changed a talent that made it truly infinite mana so it may not work anymore)  Requires you to be within 10 yards of boss/mob to judge for mana return.

my "lol, solo onyxia" build: http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?talent=sxAbg0zhMZZVf0tMIzcbc  (dependent on the key part of the "infinite mana" build so it may or may not work)

yay talents

Now I'm hungry.

I still don't understand how spell power is going to work now. Or has most of our talents changed that gives you dmg based on AP

1 spell power = 1.88 healing  which makes little sense to me since the 81 healing enchant loses some of the potential +heal from this conversion because it is listed as a 40 spell power enchant. although, some people are reporting that it actually gives 43 spellpower which makes it better than the old +dmg enchant.

the ap to spellpower stuff is mainly for ret tree as far as i can see, and i think that is to help ret with personal healing a bit (in my ret gear i was still FoLing myself for 1200-1300s vs live currently it's like 400...) and to contribute a bit on melee-sucky encounters by healing when they can...

so...the knock on holy pallies is that in a high mobility fight (something spawning underneath you for example) all you have to offer WHILE running is holy shock...then on a fight like hex lord where everyone is taking damage, pallies can only heal one target at a time...

you think they are helping to fix some of these with the new talents?

holy shock heals for substantially more now and has a 6 sec CD instead of 15.  my old holy shock crits would land for 2.5k or so, now i was seeing them land for 4k or so...plus a holy shock crit = instant Holy Light when specced for it.  Very nice stuff.  Also, holy shock friendly range is increased to 40 yards (like every other heal...).  The dmg range is still only 20 yards...

Everything with +heals is going to be +spellpower
Everything with +spell dmg is going to be +spellpower

Supposedly the developers have adjusted base healing spell strengths and a multiplier applied to +spellpower for healing.

Everything with +heals is going to be +spellpower  -not quite, there will still be a few +healing items that remain just +healing, but none other than "of healing power" or "of the physician"-type stuff.
Everything with +spell dmg is going to be +spellpower - yes

Simply Kaj, the more spellpower, the more +healing, if you want to figure out your approximate +healing multiply your spellpower by 1.88.  for some reason i had more +healing than spellpower so i had to add the differance on top of that and i end up with approximately what  +healing i have now...

[blizzard]Healing characters will see their bonus healing numbers on the character sheet decrease, however, all healing spells have been modified to receive more benefit from spellpower than they received from bonus healing, with a net effect of no change to the amount healed by their spells. Some talents have had to be rebalanced to accommodate this change, but the amount healed will remain roughly the same. In addition, some talents will provide only healing spell power. [/blizzard]

Hope y'all understand that, 'cause I don't...  :Pumpkin:

Kaj, you should see about the same healing numbers as pre-patch.  I was actually healing for more on the ptr (for max-ranked spells) than i was pre-patch.  You should see similar yields.

Oh, and Kaj, if you based all your spell power on your +dmg on the armory it will currently be incorrect.  Because all items are going to spellpower and the armory hasn't updated you'll see your +dmg/+spellpower go up substantially (to over 1k easily).
