step 2: gear up more
step 3: repeat steps 1 and 2 without as much pvp gear

step 3.33: Kill Kael
step 3.66: Drop the mount (with a beautiful drop rate ::) )

but most importantly:

step 1: Gear up
step 2: gear up more
step 3: repeat steps 1 and 2 without as much pvp gear

need that to even have a shot of steps 4+

Step 4 is actually: award it to Shadow by acclamation (the first time :pumpk4:).
