Title: SWTOR
Post by: Air on December 12, 2011, 12:44:20 PM
Is there anyone planning on playing Star Wars: the Old Republic?  Early access is starting tomorrow and release is on 12/20.  I was just wondering if there's anyone else that will be trying it out.  I'll be playing a Sith Juggernaut ( Warrior) on the Imperial side as my main.

There's an unofficial server list coming out now, a list can be found at: http://www.darthhater.com/articles/swtor-news/19789-guild-deployment-server-assignments (http://www.darthhater.com/articles/swtor-news/19789-guild-deployment-server-assignments).  I haven't decided on a server yet, but I was thinking maybe: Darth Bandon, Canderous Ordo, or Grand Master Zym.  All 3 are pve east servers, there are no central servers.

If anyone's interested, here's a good FAQ about SWTOR: http://liberi-fatali.net/the-old-republic/star-wars-the-old-republic-guide-and-faq/ (http://liberi-fatali.net/the-old-republic/star-wars-the-old-republic-guide-and-faq/).

Let me know what server you're gonna be on. I'm hoping to get my early invite email tonight :-)

I don't really know anything about that game, so thanks for the faq.  Not sure I'll be playing - I barely have time for WoW as it is, but it does sound cool.

Early invites don't start till tomorrow at 7:00 am est ;)

Takes four people to create a guild on a server, which is the size of one group.

I'll probably try it, although I'm not sure how much I can put into it right now.  Let us know what server you are rolling?

I'm thinking Canderous Ordo. Seems like it'll be a decent sized server with guilds more towards questing and casual amount of raiding.  No big guilds on there as far as I can tell.

After looking over some of the info about SWTOR, I definitely want to try out this game.  The wife though, reasonable as ever, suggests that I waiting until after the holidays and our move to Florida.  Knowing my ability to get sucked-in, that's probably a good idea.

Maybe there will be fewer bugs then too.

Seems there is an xp exploit with PvP, folks already max lvl (50) in less than 24 hours.  Tough way to launch a new MMO.

Space combat is fun as hell, especially when you can buy some upgrades for it.  Exp, and credits from doing the missions are still really nice even after the nerfs.

Now that I'm up and running I bought this game.  Started a mercenary on Carderous Orb - name is "Entropic."  Only level 11 atm, but so far it's fun.

I had that too, Deadly, it's a bug in the system - they have to be online to add them as a friend.

I haven't played for a few weeks though - not sure If I'll return or not.

Anti is right, can't add offline friends, they gotta be on.  I haven't played for couple of weeks now, been playing skyrim and deus ex: human revolution.  I'm waiting for 1.2 patch to get released to start playing again.
