It's my birthday I am 19 years old
More hair and all my teeth
And when I look forward
There's a blur in time

Sometimes the doc will
Give me my results
And I know whether or not
I have a chance of healing

My birthday candles
will be perhaps the last
But I'm not even restless
I have in me the strength

People who are accustomed
To see the death roam

Refrain:
I have overcome
Head down
If I'm down again
This will be head high

If I'm at the end of the road
Of my life too short
I will leave still at peace
Without feeling of regret

Even if I have the flame
I have in me this old soul
Those for which the wisdom
Replaced Youth

And that gave me hope
In the darkest moments
And has also tempered
My wins to snatch

I would be held as king
Faced with this Trojan
Without complaining of pain
Without crying and my woe

I survive or I die
Now I no longer fear

Refrain:
I have overcome
Head down
If I down again
This s'ra head high

It's my birthday I am 19 years old
No more of hair, but all my teeth
I blow out the candles
The last of my life

The doc I was confirmed
The evil has grown too
A matter of a few weeks
Perhaps two months ago

My eyes floating in water
In a last convulsion
Anger and helplessness
We must accept the evidence

This is no time for tears
I have to hand over arms

Refrain:
I have overcome
Head down
Now I'm down again
My head high
My head high
My head ... high!

Darn kids and your rock bands taking everything so seriously.  Every musician out there needs to sit back and make a joke of themselves sometimes.  Some bands, however, are far better at it than others.

Some like to poke fun at the classics.  I will also note that Devin Townsend is a highly talented guitarist, and is quite literally insane.  He's also Canadian, which really helps explain the devil outfit.

And while it's easy to make fun of the South, sometimes you need to devote an entire album to it, and create songs that are inspired by bumper stickers you've seen at a NASCAR rally.

Occasionally though, you realize there's one too many whiny love songs out there, and you need to vent.
