Title: Pre-Kara priest gearing
Post by: Lord Entropy on November 30, 2007, 07:47:58 AM
Hey all,

Now that I'm playing again after about a month break, I should have my priest to 70 pretty soon.  As it stands now, I'll probably have enough honor and tokens for 2-3 pieces of S1 gear.  I'm not a tailor, so I won't have access to those bop items.

Since I'll likely be a holy/disc hybrid spec, what would some of the experienced priests here recommend as far as initial gearing choices?

I'd say go for the blue sets found in dungeons prior to Khara.

Hallowed set comes to mind, also if you go for the Aldor faction they have some good healing cloth pieces and staves for you to upgrade your gear with.

Once you have these and are attuned to khara and other high end instances and such you will get your upgrades there.

EDIT: There is a good healing wand that drops in Shadow Labyrinth that will last you for quite awhile.

Also if you enjoy pvping the S1 arena gear is now available to purchase from Champion's Hall in Stormwind for little honor.

From the official WoW forums:

This is a pretty good guide- I'd check out the "rare" sections, that's most of the stuff you should be looking for and will have access to from 5 mans or rep.
I'm not sure about priests, but shamans aim for about 1000 bonus healing and about 100 mp5 while casting to start Kara.
