Sorry guys, for those that thought it convenient, I had to remove the Facebook "Like" integration on the forum for privacy reasons. Apparently FB's new Timeline features and steps towards that have encroached into everyone's privacy so much so that now it spys on news articles you read online as well as any page you visit and at the moment there is no way to turn it off in any setting aside from using Tracking Blocker addons on your browser. Because of this Big Brother-like behavior, I have made a decision to remove all Facebook integration from our site.

I apologize for any inconvenience or disappointment this might cause but I feel looking out for your privacy is more important than easy sharing. Its still possible to share stuff on this site, it just wont be via a 1-button push for doing it on Facebook as that is the app it uses for tracking purposes.

A prime example of this is when I logged into my account today to check on family, I was presented with this:

[attachimg=1]

Neither family member had any idea it was going on. Now Google and Twitter track also but the use of that tracking becomes optional on you if you choose to +1 or Tweet the item, apparently Facebook doesnt want to wait for anyone's consent and just shows it to your friends =P

For the rest of you, good protection against this via your browser is some addons. Currently on Firefox I use TACO:

For Chrome there is Facebook Disconnect:

For IE9, there is a list you can download to enable the auto privacy feature it has built in here:

Yeah, you really have to watch out for Facebook.  For Firefox users, I'd also recommend noscript.
