I'm working on some dvd cover art for this movie water lilies - what do you guys think so far?
Any critical comments are welcome :p

Very nice Geno, I like the layering you have going on.  The guy's face on the left looks a little distorted though like it got skewed in 3D.

cool thanks - the faces are sadly totally WAYYY low rez and are more less place holders for when i get the higher rez pics.

There's like a good 50 or so layers and they gave me a crappy comp with onyl 512 ram to work with, i wanted to pull my hair out in frustration a great many times while making this. Saving itself took a good 3 minutes - which I'm compulsive about.

Like Uso said that once face is a little streched out. This critical observation is small, but I'd recommend a different font for "Voicebox Production Presents" & "A Flm By James Hsiao" to something that flows a little better with the rest of the box. That font seems too generic for my taste.

from my point of view as a retailer of DVDs, increase the white around the text. You want the title especially to pop off, so its easily read by customers on the shelves. The overall design looks fantastic though, great colours.

ya i was worried about that too, I guess another pixel around the boreders will help. I printed it out and at reading distance its not so bad really.

from my point of view as a male, I need to see more flesh from the attractive brunette on the bottom. I would say get rid of the other cast members and focus on a full body shot of her, preferably in lingerie (grr..sp?) or a two piece bathing suit...

Unlike Arc- I think the pretty girl stands out too much- or is she meant to be the lead singer?
Also I don't think the font of the writing matches the title- I think it should be larger, and less harsh lines- more flowing and smooth- like water lilies (just an opinion- I am no expert at all).

It looks nice though- I like the colours and background.
