Title: Like music?
Post by: Arcdelad on March 17, 2008, 07:56:55 AM
My wife turned me onto this...type in an artist name and it builds you a streaming radio station around that type of music...sounds great, no lag, FREE, no downloads, no plug ins...takes 3 seconds and your off...

definititely recommend for you office junkies like me!

Oh GOD yes. Pandora was pretty much the only thing that kept me sane after my last job started cracking down on the intarwebs and blocked everything from icanhascheezburger to bored@work - along with the radio-station websites that I would use to stream music from. Apparently they took up too much of the bandwidth >.> but pandora doesn't count as streaming because of some way the program works. Whoooo, loophole!

I found Pandora a couple years ago. As it became more popular they canceled service for Canadians!!!

I was outraged! Its a brilliant site though.

Thanks for kicking this back to the top of my "need to try that" stack. http://www.last.fm/ works in a similar vein...

That is a great site!  I have tried others that worked on the same concept but they never seemed to put together the right music.  This one seems to be finding exactly the right mix.  Thanks for the post!

it has been pretty dead on for the most part...my radiohead station has muse, NIN, Interpol, some smashing pumpkins, etc etc, all which i like...

right now im listening to a My Chemical Romance station...its been playing fall out boy, the used, rise against, etc - it all makes sense.

...then it plays "Glamorous" by Fergie LOL....erm....wtf?

The new radiohead is pretty nice...it has some great tracks on it for sure...definitely no "ok computer" or even "hail to the thief", but its pretty chill nonetheless...
