Definitly like that type of music.
Here's some Beau Jocque and the Zydeco High Rollers stuff I heard them on NRP (yes, I'm a talk radio nerd). It's the one I could find with the best sound.

Best memory of this music for me was at the Breaux Bridge Crawfish festival, dancing for hours with total strangers to the sounds of Zydeco on a dusty field and many cold beers in hand.  Was great til I realized our ride had split with someone and left us stranded there - first and only time I hitchhiked, back home to Lafayette (an hour away).

Good times.

QuoteI heard them on NRP (yes, I'm a talk radio nerd).

Then does it make me an equally big talk radio nerd that I knew you meant NPR?  :D

National Pacifist Radio?
I used to be forced to listen to MPR (the MN local flavor) and it was bad... just sort of assumed that NPR was the same way. I hate all talk radio... Metal in the morning, or the Lex and Terry morning show.

I never use my radio alarm clock- the 7 yr old has one built in. She seems to wake up earlier on weekends, even if she goes to bed later. :(
In Australia talk back radio is quite popular though.

I love NPR.  If I've wrapped up most of my work by 5:45-6:00, I'll usually keep working until 6:30 so I can catch Marketplace for my full commute home.

Did anyone else catch the Morning Edition when Zimbabwe's deputy information minister said there wasn't economic or political crises in their country?  Steve Inskeep came back and said "I seem to recall inflation in Zimbabwe is something like 10,000 or 100,000 percent"  Classic!

"Private sector estimates of inflation in 2007 are well above 100,000%. Meanwhile, the official exchange rate fell from approximately 1 (revalued) Zimbabwean dollar per US dollar in 2003 to 30,000 per US dollar in 2007." - CIA World Factbook

But when Mugabe leaves office (keep your fingers crossed) it might get better.
