There is an interesting type of macro that makes healing a lot easier (for me at least)- the mouseover macro. The way these work is that when your cursor is over a healthbar, focus target, or character and you cast your spell, it casts on whoever you are hovering over, not your current target.
For example, I hover my cursor over Khader's nameplate and hit V, which is bound to the macro "/cast [target=mouseover, exists] Earthshield" and Khader gets an earthshield. I could also hover over his character in game, the main tank targets from ORa2/CTRaid, or my focus frame. I find this a lot easier than clicking on people and constantly retargeting. By making these macros then keybinding them, I've found healing a lot easier, especially since I used to click most of my spells.
To make a mouseover macro, use the following format:
Quote/cast [target=mouseover,exists] Spellname(Rank #)
If you are using the max rank spell, you can use
Quote/cast [target=mouseover,exists] Spellname
I'll have to try this with PW:S and Flash Heal and see how well it works for me. Thanks!
I use the addon "Clique" for same results. I have flash and holy light set to "ctrl+left click" and "ctrl+right click" respectively. Mouse over the member in raid UI and "ctrl+click" and its a heal. no target necessary. I also have cleanse and buffs set to shift+click. its super easy to set up and I love it.
lol! I do have Clique as well... I hadn't thought to use it for anything other than a Decursive clone. I'll have to play with that too.
I keybound my stuff instead of using Clique so that I would start turning with my mouse instead of my keyboard...heh.
I play on a laptop 100% of the time. never used a real mouse for WoW.
