Happened last night before the raid on my way home. I got in at home roughly 15min before invites were started and had no time to eat, nothing =P
Hit a deer doing about 80-85mph at around 5PM. No time to even react, it just ran out from the treeline in front of me. That will teach me to drive in the right lane and only pass on the left =(

The impact clipped a small cooler on the lower side air intake and broke the line causing antifreeze and everything else to pour out under the car.
The plus side: ask for the R8 as a loaner while its getting repaired!

Yes, the bright side is that Shadow is ok. While it may pain you to see your car hurt like that Shadow, I can tell you that it's quite minor. I have two friends that have hit a deer in the past couple of years and their car was wrecked a heck of a lot worse and needed some hospital time as well. One of the accidents even had some guy stop at the scene while she was still dazed from the impact and he proceeded to ignore her and went to the buck she hit. He cut off it's antlers, got back in his truck and left. Some people ::)
Noooo! Not the S4! Glad you're ok Shadow, if it was a foot or two more towards the center it could have gone through the windshield.

Beening from Mississippi/alabama, a deer in road is normal by buddy and i hit one once and totalled his car, and the Deer got up and walked away fine. Its amazing how they take nothin and the cars cant with stand a deer. :-\
Oh, and I am glad you are OK. I did picture you driving the R8 loaner sans neck brace.

I have to give credit to Audi, this car is a tank. I smack that damn thing and all I heard was a thud and the computer started yelling at me about an electronic issue with the lights. Car didnt move or budge any way at all, kept right on going till I pulled over to see how bad the damage was. Im just glad the damn airbag didnt pop out and hit me in the face.
The cop was a nice guy who came to help after I called 911. Told me they get about 6 of those calls a night during this time a year since they stopped hunting in the area and now theres an overpopulation =/
He could tell I was pissed about the whole ordeal and offered to let me shoot the deer if it wasnt already dead, haha. "If it wasnt already dead id have offered you my gun and let you have at it." This was of course after he realized I was a retired vet. We spent about an hour just BSing while I waited for the tow to show up, heh.
If not for that pleasant conversation, the positive news from my insurance co about the situation (its comprehensive coverage for this so I get to pay my $200 which is actually subtracted from my towing bill of $168 as they told me its included since I paid for the tow myself), and our Illidan kill, Id have lost it last night. Last week has been really bad luck for me IRL so this was just a lovely cap to all that.

Glad to hear you're alright - my brother damn near totaled my dad's car by hitting a deer. It was never quite the same after that, so I'm glad to see the damage to your car wasn't nearly as extensive.
Sad about your car but really glad you are ok. This could have been so much worse, as least you got to take it out on Illidan :tombstone:
