Title: Coraline
Post by: Arcdelad on March 02, 2009, 11:13:58 AM
Just a warning to parents of small kids - I saw "Coraline" with the boys yesterday, and although we are pretty good about pre-screening movies before the boys see any in the theatre, we never got around to this one...

...and it was OKAY - except about halfway through the movie it gets decidedly CREEPIER and SCARY - including a witch that wants to sew buttons on the main charachter's eyes...

my kids are almost 3 and almost 5 and they have been bombarded with the commercial on Nick and Noggin and such and really wanted to see it...just FYI for those parents taking their kids to the movies!

I would def consider it to be more for older kids like 8-9+. Im not sure why they billed this as a kids movie for all ages. The book this movie is based on is very dark and tuned more for teenagers and adults.

Its essentially a very dark Alice in Wonderland, which originally, before Disney flowered Alice in Wonderland, that tale was rather dark as well.
