ive replied to an old post of emma's about Onyx players .... so im not gonna go into too much detail
but i suspect you can learn other races languages, you must be able to, why else have it as a skill?

there is currently no way to learn other languages
If they ever do decide to allow that: 1) It will cost you a ton of gold of course. 2) it will be limited to only races in your faction (Alliance/Horde).
Think about how unbalanced the game would be if we were allowed to learn Orc, Tauren, Gutterspeak, etc. I don't know about you, but I would hate to see Horde waiting for us at specific nodes because they could understand our languages.
I think it should stay as is with no changes. I don't feel like having to fork over any more gold to the game itself if I don't have to.
From what I was told from a friend, a while back there was talk about having "Diplomatic" quests done through something like the Argent Dawn, etc that would allow you to learn another language. As far as details I have none and if thats true, I also cant say 100% for sure, only saying what I was told. Its obvious it never went anywhere but they left it in the game as a skill level so that doesnt rule out the possibility we wont see something come of it down the road.
Blizzard is trying to make a move that would basically release an expansion for WoW every year. Thats what they "plan" at least but theyve always had a hard time keeping with a release schedule so we will see how that goes. It probably wouldnt be anything on the scale of what Burning Crusade is, but it will be new zones, instances, etc from what im told.
I'd like to be able to learn other languages from the same faction. It's annoying when an NPC is giving you info in dwarven...
