Title: Go go battle.net issues
Post by: Shadowwolf on October 26, 2009, 04:56:30 AM
Dear Blizzard,

Open "google.com" in your web browser for your mail admin, type in "configuring an SMTP server" for him, and force him to read everything that pertains to whatever the hell mail system you run so that this goes away.

Yes, it will be mandatory soon.

From an email I received recently...

Dear World of Warcraft player,

As you may have heard, Blizzard Entertainment will soon be relaunching Battle.net. Our goal is to create the premier online gaming destination for Blizzard gamers, with new community and communication features like cross-realm World of Warcraft chat, real-life friends lists, cross-game communication, and much more.

As part of our preparation for this relaunch, on November 11, 2009, all World of Warcraft subscribers will be required to merge their World of Warcraft account with a free Battle.net account in order to continue to log in to the game. We're getting in touch with you now to explain why this is important and walk you through how you can complete this simple process today.

As a way to say thank you for joining the Battle.net community, any existing World of Warcraft player who merges their account (including players who have completed the process already) will receive a new World of Warcraft in-game penguin pet. To get started and to claim your pet today, visit http://us.battle.net.

The summary of this problem is Blizz's mail servers arent properly communicating with other mail servers like they should. The solution posted on the Blizz forum about it after countless pages of reports on this is: "use a different email address and try again". Its an issue only because battle.net wont allow you to config your games till it verifies your email address and its that verification email thats not going through a lot of the time.
