New patch 2.0.5

It was 3:50 am e.s.t   monday morning when i tried to log on to WoW.  Its been at 10% d/l for 10 minutes now.  I heard a patch was coming but didnt know it was going to be now.   Its a 2.63 MB patch.  I wonder how hard this is going to be for most WoW users to get during regular hours.  I just thought id give everyone a heads up.  Oh up to 19% now

It took 27 minutes to get this small file from bliz     and its  primarily only a fix for UI problems with some video cards. Or at least thats what the notes say

as soon as I had logged out last night after saying goodbye to everyone, I had tried to log immediately back in to check something for koth and it started doing the downloading for the patch then.  So I just let it do that and went to bed.  Patch is downloaded and everything, but I can't get character screen to load up at all.  They must be having trouble...

heh i feel bad for u guys, this is one of blizzards more interesting screw ups, apparently that patch is causing a lot of ppl to disconnect and have other issues like loading up the character screen. So they took down the patch shortly after making it avaliable, so now they did it so that there are tons of players with the last patch and this 'new' patch. I guess i was one of the luckier ones to have gone to sleep before they released it and the next day it didn't ask to download anything, so im still on 2.0.4 ;p

oh, btw, if you get BC you are recommended to reinstall up to 2.0 and no further.  Apparently the expansion is up-to-date for 2.0 and any extra updates could cause failure (until you get it installed and get the updates for BC...)

GG blizz..there are some hacks to get around this issue (removing/renaming certain file(s) and attempting to repair has worked for some...) but blizzard says that the full reinstall and update is recommended...

/cry  I've been stuck downloading the patch for a while now and shadow's patch on this site doesn't seem to be working correctly for me.   Ho hum, I bet there will be a queue of 800 people by the time this is all installed. /sigh
