So you see items in BC now like so:

[wowitem]Fleshling Simulation Staff[/wowitem]
and
[wowitem]Earthwarden[/wowitem]

and sit there scratching your head as to what on earth "Feral Combat Skill" is. Is it a new skill at 70? Is it something thats not in the game yet? Nope...

Basically, "Feral Combat Skill" in simplified terms is weapon skill level for your currently equipped weapon but in Feral Forms. For example:

An item like [wowitem]Grips of the Deftness[/wowitem] has an added level to specific skills. Meaning if you had your Mace skill at 350 and wore these gloves, you would be at 350 + whetever the number bonus these gloves translates to with the new combat system (I think 5 or 10) ONLY when you were in druid form. Meaning when you shifted into cat, bear, crit-chicken, your skill would drop back down to 350. Thats because specific weapon skill bonuses from items dont translate into feral forms...till now.

Thats where "Feral Combat Skill" rating comes into play. Now if an item has that bonus, depending on the weapon skill level you have, the item that contains a bonus to Feral Comat Skill will be given that bonus number. Meaning if you walk around with a Staff for a weapon and maxed skill at 350, then every time you changed into form it would be 350 + the bonus of the feral gear.

So to sum up, its not some new skill to level up, its simply Blizzard's way of allowing weapon skill bonuses to translate into feral form for druids finally. =)
