The final boss in Mana Tombs (Nexus-Prince Shaffar) is a very tough fight with a single healer.  He does frost and fire damage so resist gear for either would be nice.  Pally frost and ideally fire aura are nice to have too.  Gift of the wild and Shadow protection from a priest will be useful too.

Breakdown of the fight:
Phase 1
Basicly the damage to the party until all Ethereal Beacons are down is extremely high.  The party will take in total, about 2-3k damage per second until the beacons are down.  Use a mana pot as soon as you can as this is a mana intensive fight.  You will likely need to pop another potion before the battle is over.  In the initial phase, several party members will be taking damage (including the healer).  If you draw aggro, shed it if you can (bubble, fade)... if you die, it is all over.

Phase 2
Once all the beacons are down, most of the damage will be done to the tank.  It is a longish fight, so you will need to stay on top of healing.  Damage output from the boss is manageable, although he spawns adds periodically.  When these pop, they need to be DPS'd down as quickly as possible.  There are occaisional bursts in damage output... just be careful to preserve mana and it should go fine.

Notes
I am not sure if two healers would be better.  While it would ease the load on healing, it would prolong the fight with reduced DPS so will have to assess.

One of the differences I noticed during the encounter where we were successful was that the 3 beacons went down fast - much faster than the other runs.  I think that made all the difference and supports your conclusion.

I do think 1 healer is enough, provided the group has enough dps to take down the beacons and any apprentices that might spawn, and the healer has enough mana to last.

I also think the suggested group of lvls 64 - 66 is too low for this boss.

It was a fun run with a great group of guildies all doing their jobs and doing them well.  I love attempting and conquering new areas like we did last night.  WTG Twilight!
