So why is it that in pvp I'll be behind everyone, and 3 warriors will intercept through the crowd to take me out even if I havent cast anything yet. In EOS I'm constantly being singled out even if in the middle of a group or 7 or more people it shows 4 enemys targeting me first. Are they trying to make me quit or what, if so its working.

Horde know how potent shaman can be if they're elemental spec. If you're hanging back and not meleeing, that's a really good sign to them that you're a caster. I always had that same problem as an elemental spec in pvp back in the day when AV first came in. The best trick I found was to jump into the melee like you're an enhance still--sometimes the dummies will leave you alone and you get a chance to do some real damage then.

Priests, Rogues, and Warlocks get the same pvp experience. As a rogue, I obviously stealth and choose my fights and get out of sight as soon as my kill is made. As a warlock, I tend to hang back out of the opponents range and send my succy in to seduce one target while I move into the whatever alliance group is close by for maximum protection, although it doesn't always work out in my favor. And on my priest, wow, I'm a magnet and shields only absorb so much damage. I heal as much as possible and cause very little damage. I'm usually stuck like glue on the person I think will be able to cause the most damage and he gets my main heals.

The best advice basically is similar to what dharq said, remain as inconspiquous as possible. I don't have a shaman myself, but when I pvp and I see one, he's going down despite his spec. Especially in WSG.

Horde realize how powerful a shammy can be as a healer id guess.  I sure learned it in a 1v1 fight last night.

The fight lasted over five minutes (surprising no one else showed up).  I emptied 9k worth of mana plus used, a healthstone, health pot, a bandage, and 3 death coils and life tappped several times on this one shammy.  I even crit him one hit for 4300 damage.  He never fought back with offensive  spells.  The few moments where he wasnt feared he cast regrowth or whatever it is and got all his health back constantly.   I just simply ran out of ways to get mana or health back.  He killed me with half his health left and no mana.   One of the best fights ive ever had in bgs (i dont ever use pots in bgs but sure wanted to win that fight so i made an exception :P ).  Too bad he took my insignia before i could congratulate him.   In retrospect i should have used drain life while he was feared.  Oh well

Shammys are wicked good at healing.  If i see one, its my first target if at all possible.

If you have storm reach (which I think you said you do)  you should be able to hit a big group with chain lightning from pretty far away, further than the warriors' charge distance.  In my experience you're lucky if you get 2 or 3 of these off before the entire squad is on you and after that it feels like you're wearing cloth with how fast you go down.  The Shaman's totems combined with their ability to heal make them a huge target and considering the races of most Shaman are in fact the largest (Tauren, Draenei) doesn't make it easy to be discrete.

My strategy was to unload as much damage as possible, as quickly as possible from a position that was a little less noticeable like up on a building, inside a bush, a road on another level in AV, etc.  I always used a 1H + shield since the high int and spell damage gear doesn't do to much for stamina.  I made a second Action bar just for PVP with a level one Frostshock and Earthshock so I could conserve my mana for the big lightning strikes.  With generous use of Frostshock and Earthbind, you can keep most melee at a distance and run them around until you get some backup.  If nothing else you'll be occupying the time of a few people to take the load off the team, but as an Elemental Shaman you just have to get used to dying a bit more.  I think watching those Chain Lightning crits is worth it though:)

I havent PvP'd since changing spec but when I was resto on Jenjay, I went down quicker than the priests do. It was amazing how long I could last 1v1 or even 2v1 but 3 or more and I was toast. I was a purge happy, chain lightning heal bot. Horde have a bit of an advantage in PvP right now for at least a little while longer in that they know how a Shaman fits in to a PvP group better than Alliance does right now.

Yeah I agree with shammys being crazy healers. When I would give it all I got on a shammy he wouldnt die. When there is 6 alliance that beat on one, he didnt die (now THAT was really funny). Really, with their fast heals and the occasional  instant cast heal on some shammies...just plain annoying to try to solo one.

Lol I mist not be doing a good job since I get creamed a lot by a group of warriors.
