Kothnok

Nashville, TN
I'm only familiar with a small section near Vanderbilt Children's Hospital / University which is where my niece had her heart surgery last year (she's doing great, btw).
If you find yourself close by, eat at Pancake Pantry (located here) for brunch.  They are only open until 2pm, but their breakfast, especially their pancakes, are top notch.  They always have a line out the door, so expect about a 15-30 min wait.  Definitely worth the wait, though.

Panera Bread (located in several places) is a favorite cafe of mine.  Great sandwiches, soup, drinks, atmosphere, scenery, and free wi-fi.

P.F. Chang's (located here) is also very good.  If you go, you MUST order Shrimp with Candied Walnuts.  It's going to be sweet like candy, but it is oh so good.  This restaurant serves it's dishes "family style" so you will want to go here with some friends.

A cool place to visit even if all you do is drive by it is the life size replica of the Parthenon.  You have to pay to go inside and I haven't been inside yet, but they do have a 40' golden Athena statue.  I got to see it while they were setting up for a dinner party inside one night.

Opry Mills Mall (located here) is also a great place to visit.  There's tons of food here, sometimes live music, and Bass Pro Shop is a must see with it's decor and large indoor fishtank.  Grand Ole Opry is next door and the hotel next to that is also a great place to walk through with it's immense indoor gardens.

No matter how often you refill the gene pool, there's always a shallow end.

As for Nashville, Koth has already listed some great places to visit  ;)

Theres also the Hard Rock Cafe downtown, great place to eat and good atmosphere all around

Santa Fe is a great place for a good lunch or dinner.  It is located over near the Opry Mills Hotel.  Can't miss the sign if you are headed down Brilie (spelling ><) parkway.

If you had alot of free time, a trip on the General Jackson is always pleasurable.  It's an old casino boat turned into a floating top notch restaurant with live entertainment (if you get the tickets for the below deck).  The top deck is also fun.  Theres a live band at the top, a decent little restaurant if your hungry, and just sit down and watch the river as it goes by.  The voyage is a good amount of time though, so not something that can be done quickly.  It is located behind the Opry Mills Mall.

I love Playhouse Square.  Not to be confused with the Cleveland Playhouse, which currently has an amazing production of Pride and Prejudice going on.  It's so good that I enjoyed it... which is impressive, considering how crappy the book was.

Down the street from Playhouse Square is Slyman's Deli:
3106 St. Clair Avenue
Cleveland, Ohio 44114

If you're in town, you absolutely -have- to see the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
1100 Rock and Roll Blvd.,
Cleveland, OH, 44114
(216) 781-7625

The Cleveland Museum of Art currently has all the armor and weapons from Imperial Austria.  I hear it's a good showing.
11150 East Boulevard
Cleveland, Ohio 44106

Need to run now, but if you want things in the warehouse district, flats, or suburbs, let me know.

As far back as I can remember, La. (New Orleans in particular) was always passed over by the concert circuits for whatever reason...probably due to its proximity to Houston/Dallas & Atlanta.
