And do you think it doesn't happen in our  countries? Maybe not to this degree, but I have talked to politicians who say their interviews have had words chopped out of them so that the meaning (and thus public impressions) of what they wanted to say had been changed on TV.
Australia's media is mostly run by men like Murdock and Packer who have very strong political opinions.
So I'm pretty cynical when I read the paper.

Luise has a good point. You see even politicians that quote something along the lines of "I'd love terrorists" when if you read the whole sentance it's like "I'd love terrorists to DIAF."
But that's about half the problem. Speaches are setup in only 5 second sound bites any more.
