R goat priests that Op?

First give everyone our lovely fear ward, but also nerf it.  Now this............

[blizzard]In an upcoming build all Priest racials have been retired, except the following:

Desperate Prayer - This is now the 11-point talent in Holy, Holy Nova is now a base ability. Cooldown also reduced to 30 seconds.
Devouring Plague - Now a base ability. Cooldown reduced to 30 seconds, mana cost greatly reduced.
Symbol of Hope - Now a base ability. Now restores 5% base mana every 2 seconds for 8 seconds to your party. Renamed "Hymn of Hope."

While this change does reduce the "uniqueness" of different Priests, we feel game balance as a whole will benefit.
Note: These new "racials" are not racials, they are trainable to all Priests. [/blizzard]

Holy nova as a base skill is such a joke.  The skill is such a POS.  They should have given all priests desperate prayer as a base skill.

Chastise as a replacement to fear ward was a joke. 2s stun rarely works in pvp and for PvE the only time ive found it of value is the trash pull before Najentus to keep one of the caster naga up top and aggrod on me.

Symbol of Hope I use a lot tho for the mana regen, im glad its getting improved.

My whole reason for rolling a Draenei priest was for Fear Ward, only because I couldnt adjust to being a frumpy female dwarf =P

Had I known they were going to smack FW with a giant nerf bat like they had, id have re-evaluated my race choice.

From a pvp perspective, Chastise I find invaluable. I can't count the number of times it has allowed me to catch someone for a fear, or get far enough away from someone to kite them... or stop a druid casterform long enough for my partner to catch up and beat them down.


In pve it's useless, however.


That said, alot of these changes seem... strange. I think Blizzard must have some interesting balance planned for WoTLK and I expect that we will all be finding our classes defined more accurately in terms of pvp. Or perhaps it will just be the same #$%^ different expansion

Hymn of Hope. aka Symbol of Hope is a 8 sec channaled spell on ptr. Plus its holy, so pops me out of sform.
