Hey guys,
My new 8800GT Video card bit the dust, so I wont be on much prob for a about a week or so. Its still under warranty, so its not a big deal. I ordered a new one as well so when it comes back from RMA I'll have two in SLI. Since I'm doing SLI I decided its time to get ride of my old A8N board and get an A8N32 board so both cards run in 32x mode rather than half speed at 16x. Until my new board and new card arrive I most likely wont be on much. My wife has her computer, but shes usually on it herself playing wow. I do have wow loaded on my GBPVR box (a TIVO of sorts, I think its better IMO) but it is a low grade box and is hooked up to a non HDTV so text and other smaller things are very hard to see and hurt my eyes. Also wow playes at 17fps because of the integrated gfx. I've already notified all who joined my ST run it is on the ice right now, but I might be able to hop on my wifes computer to do it. If I come on and dont say hi or respond please dont think I'm being rude, its most likely due to the fact I cant really read the chat box on this thing :)

Good luck on gettin the comp fixed. On a side note so i dont have to make another post. I got my laptop fixed or should say i just bought a new keyboard from circiut city my laptop keyboard has been laid to rest it passed away last nite at 11:27 EST. Man its gonna take some gettin used to the big keys on a regular keyboard again im to used to my laptop.

Well theres been a change of plan. Sent my card out yesterday morning overnite they got it today, and said they cant give me a replacement or a refund because the s/n sticker was "gone". I spent two hours on the phone with them, and they said they would give me store credit. I said ok well id like to buy another card they said fine. Here is a nuumber to put in your order form and it wil give you the full ammount back you spent on the card. Well to make a long story short they didnt. After spending another hour or more on the phone with them, they said that they had never said such a thing. Extreemly upset and dissapointed I've cancled my order for a new card and and they are sending the broken card back to me. My luck has sucked recently with computers, starting with the last two months of my previous job as a system engineer for a comouter company, and has only gotten worse with phantom parts breaking. I'm not going to rebuild my computer anytime soon, and I'm considering canceling my wow subscription. I'm really frustrated and upset with how this has turned out.
By the way since I didnt mention in in my orginal post the problem with the card was two of the resistors fell off of the card, causing the card to totally fail.

Sorry to hear about your string of bad luck. :(
Hope you get things sorted out soon.

Theres an old saying of tradespeople not being able to perform their trades for themselves without error. Carpenters, electricians, plumbers etc usually contract out to friends or services to do work on their own stuff because they quickly realize luck has a way of biting you and breaking stuff making more work. Plus having someone else do it but having a part of the process the whole way you have some recourse and the ability to make someone else fix it in the end, hehe. One of the reasons I didnt build my own laptop, tho Alienware Customer Support is quickly working their way towards the top of my "list".

For those of you looking to buy a new laptop, dont go Alienware unless you can accept having a kick butt machine with lousy support and response should something go awry. Dell may not be as good technically and performance wise, but they do a way better job making the customer feel loved and not abused.

Dosent Dell own Alienware now? Coustomer Suport is pretty much lously everywhere I've gone until I either get mad wih em, or get even more mad and ask for their supervisor. I buy Dell's and what not for my parents and my wife so if it breaks they cant point any fingers.
