QuoteBLEND IN. You need to try to blend in as best as you can to enjoy yourself more. The more you stand out, the more likely you will get suckered in by some con artist on the street corner. This leads me to my next tip...

so doing a Mick Dundee and be a stand out aussie is a bad idea then?

Use that map and you'll never get lost ^_^ (kidding, of course)

LOL!

Oh! Oh! Use Fi's map and visit "THE GHETTO".  Sounds Italian.  Maybe it's like Chinatown, but Romanesque?  :pumpk3:
No matter how often you refill the gene pool, there's always a shallow end.

Haha, <3 those maps :)

If I go to the ghetto, I'll be sure to pack my  :Fire Elemental: .
I live in Cleveland at the moment, so I know about staying out of the bad parts of town... great advice guys!

GB, I was actually given a small framed version of that picture for Christmas.  How odd of a coincidence.

The trip to NY was awesome. I loved being able to travel without a car- my family walked everywhere or took the subway. The subway was pretty easy to navigate and so were the streets. Rockefeller Center was so pretty with the giant Christmas tree and everyone ice skating below it. The food was great, but more expensive than in Ohio (not surprised there). Seeing the Statue of Liberty (just rode the SI ferry and saw it from there) and the Empire State Building was interesting. It was too foggy to go to the top, but I ended up going to the top of Rockefeller Center the next night. There was even a helicopter circling the platform while we checked out the view. I had fun shopping in all the huge stores around Times Square and on 5th Av. and just walking around window shopping.  Unfortunately, I didn't get to see a play on Broadway (too expensive and too long of a line at the half-price tickets booth) but I had a great time.  Thanks everyone for your advice here :)

And a pic of me in front of the giant Christmas tree:
