[blizzard]With the release of Wrath of the Lich King approaching, we wanted to provide you with some important information. In preparation for the expansion, we will be issuing a new content patch in the coming weeks. Much like the patch made available shortly before The Burning Crusade's release, this content patch is designed to bridge current game content with that of the expansion and will contain some exciting changes and additions.

We have outlined some of the larger features scheduled to release with the patch below:

New class spells and talents
Stormwind Harbor
Barbershops in capital cities
Zeppelin towers outside of Orgrimmar and Tirisfal Glades
Two brand-new Arenas featuring challenging new layouts, terrain hazards, and moving obstacles
Guild calendar
Hunter pet skill revamp
New profession: Inscription

As mentioned above, this is not a comprehensive list, just some of the major highlights. We’ll post the full patch notes as soon as they’re available. Regarding Inscription, please note that all Burning Crusade players will be able to select Inscription as one of their two professions and level up to a skill level of 375 with it. Upon the release of Wrath of the Lich King, players who purchase and install the expansion will be able to continue leveling in Inscription and the other professions beyond 375.

Big thing I'm worried about is the tank's.  Alot of the higher end gear, and badge gear doesn't have strength on it.  And strength is becoming a huge part of a warrior and paladin's avoidance.  For paladin's, if our prot tree stay's the way it is, will be losing a great deal of def.  On beta sever I went from around 504 def to 484 def.  Had to switch a trinket out for more defense.  Also from what I've read druids will also be having problems with threat as there stat's will be changing around.

And than there's the issue of no more salvation.  Gonna make dpsing and tanking more interesting.

I can't find it at the moment, but Panzer was wondering the same thing about enhancement shamans- they'll pretty much want hunter stats in WOTLK as opposed to the strength they want now. There was a blue post in the WoW WOTLK forums basically saying "Current items will be retroactively changed [I'd assume with the pre-WOTLK patch] in order to help classes who's mechanics have changed."

If I can find it, I'll post it again :)

QuoteI know this is probably early, but wanted to know if there were any plans to re-work the stats on enhancement tier gear and arena/pvp gear with the changes to str/agil/int AP conversions?

We hope to retroactively change some of the gear on live so the transition is less painful for classes whose core mechanics are changing. [/blizzard]

They may also add achievements in this patch :)
[blizzard]Originally, the answer was no. We were going to wait until Northrend opened. But we will most likely put the system live for 3.0. This could of course change but the current leaning is to put the system live with 3.0.[/blizzard]
