Looking for feedback and thoughts on warrior talent builds for WotLK.  I'm biased towards protection but I'd like to see what folks are planning for DPS.

Protection build at 80
http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/warrior/talents.html?tal=350000000000000000000000000000301000000000000000000000000053351225203012521330113321

Left out

  • Improved Disciplines - can't justify spending points in situational abilities.
  • Safeguard - situational at best and as a tank unlikely I'd be intervening during the fight.  Blizz designs a fight for it then maybe but that seems unlikely.
  • Improved Disarm - not worth it for the 2 raid level mobs that can be disarmed.
  • Piercing Howl - not since BWL has this had a use in any raid.

Included

  • Gag Order - 10% increase to shield slam = more threat. combined with Sword and Board its even better.
  • Damage Shield - more threat than thorns. works while stunned so go ahead pvp rogue stun me and kill yourself
  • Warbringer - don't have to stance dance in pvp.
  • Improved Defensive Stance - procs frequently so makes up for the reduction in damage while in defensive stance.  reduces spell damage by 6%.  win/win
  • Vigilance - more threat please
  • Shield Mastery - increase block value = less damage taken.  need to check if it contributes to shield block value.
  • Improved Spell Reflection - like the reduces chance to be hit by spells by 4%. really don't see where else these points are helpful anyway
  • Armored to the Teeth (Fury) - 600+ attack power. more threat please
  • Deflection (Arms) - don't like to get hit
  • Improved Heroic Strike - had to put the points somewhere.

Here's what I'm using as a base for leveling with protdps (5/3/53 at 70):

(This may not be the same as my real spec in-game... I was naive back when 3.0 came out.  :D)

Obviously this will be rebuilt for raiding use at 80, which for me should be in about 3 months at this rate.

All this is tentative, I'm not 100% sure what my primary rotations will be, here's pvp:

http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/warrior/talents.html?tal=050033212333010523021203031051325000131020000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

And here's DPS:

http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/warrior/talents.html?tal=032032212333010500201223231251305020005020000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

It's all tentative like I said, since pvp functionality has not been 100% determined yet it still depends. I want Imp execute simply due to sudden death and the ENORMOUS crits it will deliver. Being able to sudden knock 50% of an opponent's health away will win many matches.

Here's another spec I've seen thrown around for prot hybrid MS:

EDIT:

Also, in terms of what weapon spec, here's a good thread:

http://www.arenajunkies.com/showthread.php?t=49952

I'm thinking swords ideally for pvp simply due to burst, but given the enormous prevalence of axes/maces it will be whatever is the biggest stick I can pick up first.  ]:D
Most people think Marv is crazy. He just had the rotten luck of being born in the wrong century. He'd be right at home on some ancient battlefield swinging an axe into somebody's face.
