I'm not much of a Trekkie, but I was intrigued when I heard this was being released. My first thought was this was a remake of the original movie but I guess this is supposed to show the origins of the original characters and how they came to be at the helm of the Enterprise?

simon pegg from sean of the dead playing scotty. do we believe that a man can put on that much weight with age?

sulu is played by none other than Harold from the harold and kumar series...............these periods could go on forever.
and finally we got chekov. whats he been in? I remember a part in the life changing film "alpha dog" with justin timberlake.

lets remake star trek with a bunch of hacks and heart throbs.

not to mention J.J. abrams directing.... because cloverfield was such a hit.
