Sharing the strategy Koth and I used for tanking the Stone Guards in our first kill.

MT tanks 2 guardians.  One is the energized guardian (energized guardian has white circle around it).
OT tanks 1 guardian.

Pull
MT picks up 2 guardians and OT picks up 1.   Not important who has what colors.

When first guardian energizes
If MT is tanking it, do nothing.
If OT is tanking it, MT taunts energized guardian from OT.  OT taunts one of the guardians from the MT

The first swap
When 2 guardians on MT reach 40% energy, the tanks switch the non-energized guardians. 

From now on it's about managing the energy of the guardians so only one explodes at a time.  (Rinse and repeat until Stone Guard is dead)
If a guardian on MT energizes next, no swap is needed.
If the guardian on OT energizes, MT taunts energized guardian on OT.  OT taunts the guardian with the highest energy on MT.

Sometimes it may be necessary to swap the non-energized guardians to avoid 2 overloads at the same time.  MT should monitor the energy on the 3 guardians and be ready to taunt the guardian off the OT as needed.  OT must be ready to taunt the non-energized guardian off the MT when this happens.

It's also helpful to minimize movement.  Helps tanks stay in taunt range and dps to stay on mobs. Move to avoid cobalt mines and amethyst pools only when necessary.
