I just thought I'd let everyone know that my son (Eravion) found out today that he is red/green colour blind. It is only a mild case so shouldn't affect him too much in game. He sees the number 21 in the attached picture. I see 74.

This is an example of an Ishihara color test plate. The numeral "74" should be clearly visible to viewers with normal color vision. Viewers with dichromacy or anomalous trichromacy may read it as "21", and viewers with achromatopsia may see nothing.

P.S. He is not upset by this discovery and was actually quite happy to be the only one in his science class. We looked up the internet and found there are actually some advantages to being colour blind :)

hmm, i see the # 21 to :( but i have never had a problem seeing red/green before i guess its time to get my eyes checked again

I've heard that some people with the worse color blindness cannot tell the difference between the red and green portals in Netherspite's fight.  For a tank, that would be awkward.

My high school chemistry teacher was totally red-green color blind.  Whenever he would wear his powersuit he told the class his wife had to pick out the red tie for him since he couldn't tell which one of his ties was red.

I saw a 71 on first glance, dunno what that means. ;)  I saw the 74, but I had thought the fainter green dots were some form of trick and discounted them (too many puzzle games played, I think).
No matter how often you refill the gene pool, there's always a shallow end.

i found my problem doing this with out fully wakeing up and remember to put your contacts in is a big no no with this puzzle thing.. woot for 74...lol

I see the number 24...?

jk  :P

Hopefully we've found the reason why Eravion can beat anyone in a duel  8)

Most people think Marv is crazy. He just had the rotten luck of being born in the wrong century. He'd be right at home on some ancient battlefield swinging an axe into somebody's face.

burn!!!

at least you have an excuse for not matching your colors...good luck era!

Muridin

be awkward on dates however....  :D

Luise

Era can tell between red and green if they are separate- like portals, beams for boss kills (Netherspite) and gems. It's only blends that he has problems with.
We did the test with my youngest son (Iceblade) and guess what? He's also red/green colourblind.
Both my nephews are too. So I guess my sister and I are carriers from my dad (who had terrible dress sense with colours:)).
Ah, genetics are interesting.

Muridin

Genetics are crappy. I got lumped with "not able to roll the tongue" gene. I remember that day at school after science, everyone was like can you do it, can ye huh huh huh in your face like, and i got teased....

kids can be so cruel...

Here's something that'll make you feel better, Muri - I have not ever in all my life been able to snap my fingers. It's the simplest thing in the world, and yet I can't get the correct finger positioning/friction going on to get that nice crisp snapping sound. Try being the only kid in your music class (who's dad is the music teacher I might add) and having to cluck your tongue to the beat while making the snapping motions so you're not accused of not paying attention.

Muridin

i can fluke a finger snap. if im lucky. but why would anyone want to pay attention in school. oh wait ... dont read that luise.... =p

On the subject of weird genes, anyone else have to sneeze a couple of times whenever you first go out into the sunlight?

No, really. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photic_sneeze_reflex

In addition to the curl the tongue gene there is the raise one eyebrow and raise one side of your upper lip (ie Elvis Presley).
These are also fun to see who can & who can't do them.
Everyone used to have brown eyes as well until a mutation came along that produced the other colors.
