I'm going to be filling up slots on raids a bit longer than expected.

I was planning on leaving for college tomorrow morning, but life apparently comes at you fast.  My mom decided to take me out for a last lunch before I left, and not three blocks away some dude decided to forsake his stopsign and catch me in the crossfire.  I feel okay so far, just a bit of a headache from slamming my head into the side of the car and what is likely to become bruising.  The other dude walked away without a scratch to himself, and a car that was still drive-able.  I, however, was less lucky.

That's the driver's side rear, which strangely enough took very little body damage.  However, the entire wheel is bent inward at about a 35 degree angle, and cannot move.

Same side, different angle.  The entire rear bumper panel pretty much popped off and didn't get hurt.  From here you can really see how the tire collapsed inwards from his front bumper.

And that's the grand total in damage to his car, which is none.  The worst thing that happened is that my tire/suspension ripped off his license plate.  The car still moved and was perfectly drivable, mine had to be towed away to the repair shop.  What you can't really tell from that picture is that the bottom of his front bumper is torn to shreds, and that there's no skidmarks from his side where the impact took place.  He actually swerved around another car that was turning left, and then hit me in the right hand lane and spun my car around all the way.  According to the witness that saw him take off from the stopsign, he was still accelerating when he collided with me, and I somehow started to swerve away just before the impact and proceeded to hold the car in a spin without going over the curb or hitting other cars.  Quite amazing how I did that, especially since the road was quite busy and I frankly don't remember a thing after my mother screamed "Oh my god!" and my head hit the lower edge of the roof on my door.  Everyone involved is okay though, I just have to take muscle relaxants for the next week and sort out how I'm going to get back to college while taking care of all the insurance paperwork.

Jesus, Doc. Glad to hear you're doing alright. Be sure and watch that headache of yours closely - getting slammed into the side of the skull does not a happy brain make, and it may decide to let you know that in interesting and painful ways >.<

Oh I know that pain all too well Doc.  Glad your alright though.  My car wasn't as lucky though, its gone to the little junkyard in the sky.

Even over a month later, still in pain   :'(

I would think in the south a junker like that would fit in well allo....

Take care Doc and make sure you rest- like Fiere and Allo said that concussion can last a long time. Sorry to hear about the accident  but glad you and your mom were not hurt worse than you are. Keep us posted.
