Heya marshmallows,
Since Lich King came out, i get frequent random game freezes that 98 % results in a disconnect from server.... I disabled QH since a GM told me it could be the cause of not being able to log on a toon, also disabled some cartographer options.... the only addons i use are Omen and Cartographer...
any idea what the issue can be ? I first thought it could be my net dropping, but when im not on wow, my net never drop.  I also tried the net at my parents and i get as much game freezes  / disconnects.....
/ sad :(

Any ideas ?

First thing I would do is to disabled all your add-ons.
Second Rename the folders:
C:\Users\Public\Games\World of Warcraft\Cache\WDB
C:\Users\Public\Games\World of Warcraft\WTF

I say rename because if that doesn't fix it. Just rename them back. Bliz says to delete them, which doesn't do anything for you if it doesn't fix the issue.

After that if it's still happening, try changing all your visual settings to the lowest setting to see if that fixes it or not.

I don't know if this is the same issue, or what kind of computer/graphics card you have but:

QuoteSome people have been complaining about the FPS drop they're getting since the release of Wrath of the Lich King, if you're using a Nvidia card and do not update your drivers often you might want to check the Forceware 180.48 (Win XP / Vista) drivers released a few days after the expansion. (I'm only bringing this up now because my framerate surprisingly improved when I updated, it doesn't mean that it will work with you but it definitely helps for some people)

Do you connect with wifi? I had some freezes a while back. Turned out my wireless router was dying. New one solved the problem.

Yes but the one at my parents' is new and i get as many game freezes :(

If you're using Wireless, thats the issue.

WoW and Wireless have never worked very well together only because the amount of data WoW transmits on the network is just huge. Wireless, especially older wireless devices dont react well to this so what happens is they tend to drop segments of data sometimes if its too much which can result in freezes or disconnects. Freezes in WoW are basically preludes to D/C's. Whats happening is somewhere WoW lost a large chunk of Data and the freeze you see is WoW waiting to see if it can catch up to itself with the server or not. If it cant, you get disconnected, if it can, you see everything basically fast forward and catch up to itself.

Also check your <wowfolder>/Logs folder and see if your chat log or combat log are too large (chances are it's your WoWCombatLog.txt).  If you turned one of those logs on and haven't deleted the log in a while, it could be too large for WoW to handle resulting in freezes and D/Cs.

thank you very much for the answers =)

I have lowered all my video settings, just keeping the distance range of view and it seems better, no game freezes yet for the day

Dah, I have an Imac as well and WoW should run perfectly on in but I've been getting some game freezes since wotlk as well...
