Some Quick Paladin Tricks and Advice

Any class that can go invulnerable, shed all agro, instantly heal themselves, and leech mana is bound to have some creative combos. Here are a few that I know of that can help out quite a bit.
Divine Shield and Blessing of Protection
- Divine Shield is a great way to pull a strong group of mobs to your party when location is important. 12 seconds is a long time to position mobs while they beat on your shield. Just make sure nobody is trying to buff or heal you.
- Divine Shield will shed all aggression from you if someone else is on the monster's hate list. This is a great way to kill your party if you have a lot agro and someone is healing you. Don't do this. Same with BoP if it is a melee mob.
- You cannot mine or interact with chests while invulnerable. Neither can your teammates. Cast BoP on your guild mate while he's mining for a fun time in Ventrillo!
- While healing, Divine Shield can be the difference between life and death for your party. An interrupted, stunned or counter spelled healer is a Bad Thing when times are tough.
- The length of Divine Shield does allow for use of a hearthstone whilst shielded. Contrary to popular opinion, it does not kill every horde in the zone and will not make you the kwisatz haderach. However, it is a great way to escape danger, and it will infuriate most less than intelligent Horde. You might even draw some attention in PvP if you feint shield/hearth. Would be funny to see.
Judgments
- Judgment of Light is the best friend to a rogue, dual wield warrior, druid or hunter pet. Judgments of Light and Wisdom do not use PPM, they have a strict percent chance to return life or mana to an attacker. The faster they attack, the faster they heal! In lower level instances, JoL can heal a party of Rogues. It's beautiful.
- Judgment of Wisdom is the best friend for everyone else. Wisdom will proc not only on melee attacks, but spells, wands, auto-shoot and even Holy Shield procs! Teach your wand users to use a fast wand on a Judged mob - over the course of a few seconds, they can regen a few hundred points of mana. Hunters in particular get a great benefit from this.
- Judgment of Justice will prevent mobs from running. This can be a bad thing, since they'll stay and fight instead. You might want to use your own... judgment... in deciding to judge justice or not - a close fight might end in someone's death. (Sorry for the pun.)
- Judgment of Wisdom currently returns up to three times the mana when used with Seal of Fury. I doubt this is intended, however, so this may change at any time (probably in the next patch.) It is very nice right now, and you can use it to very quickly regen mana.
- Judgment of Fury will generate threat with any Holy attack, regardless of damage, meaning Rank 1 Consecrate will generate just as much threat as Rank 4.
Seals
- Improved Seal of Justice has a use! Don't disregard this very powerful seal - while yes, a target will become immune to stuns after being stunned three times, you can use Imp SoJ and a slow weapon to almost guarantee a Justice proc. This comes in a handy when Repentance and Hammer of Justice are down. Or just play spoiler on the battle field and thump people over the head. Disruption is a beautiful thing.
Heals
- Divine Favor and Illumination make you one of the best combat medics in the game. Resurrect someone and then get them back in the gear with a crit heal and a Blessing of Wisdom (or Might) and they're instantly back in the game.
- Holy Light, Rank 4, can still receive the full benefit from the highest rank of Blessing of Light. That's nearly 800 points of healing for 190 mana, with next to no threat generation. While Flash of Light, rank 1, does not receive the full bonus, it still can heal for around 100 using 31 mana each heal. Since you gain 30 mana/5 sec just with Blessing of Wisdom alone (not to mention +mana/5 sec gear), and will get 35 mana back on a crit heal, it is likely that you can provide 60-70hps regen FOR FREE. (By way of comparison, that's about the same as a Druid regen.) Of course, you can't do anything else during that time, but you're available to break off and drop a big heal, too.
Auras
- Devotion Aura, no matter what you improve on it, is not all that great for tanks. 7-900 extra armor is nice, but not key for a Warrior already sporting 8k armor on his own. However, a caster will love you.
- Resistance Auras do not stack with any resistance buffs except what ever you gain through items.
