So last night after we stared at Hakkar's 5% amount of life left while 1/3rd of our party disconnected, I decided, what the hell, its 11:45 and I might as well go to Eb and buy TBC.

When I slipped and slided to EB (its snowing here), I encountereda  HUGE line at the door; all members like myself ha dutifully pre-ordered TBC in order to ensure that we would have our fix. I happened to be at the end of a lengthy line, so I had lots of time to do my other favorite passtime, observation of people. These people DID make my own addictive plight seem all the more passable.

One pimply faced teenager in line near the front found it amusing to continusouly shout out at the top of his lungs, "Leeeeeeeeeeeroy Jenkins". I queitly braced myself for the Chuck Norris comment....5...4...3...2..1...."CHUCK NORRIS" he bellowed....wasnt thsi the loser who bailed on one of my scholo runs? I swear to god its the same guy. God am I glad im not like that guy.

(Meanwhile I was in such a hurry to get out the door that I threw on sandals. At thsi point my left big toe starts to get frostbite).

Next in line was the dress shirt clad middle aged office worker. Using my racial trait of super long reaching eavesdropping ears, I overheard him bragging about how he keeps his WOW raid schedule on his office outlook calandar and has his company provided secratary track these events for him. I imagine this guy going home to his frumpy wife of 20 years...she is dressed in a skimpy victoria secret outfit and has lit candles in the living room, and has wine poured in two crystal goblets on the ground. He says, "thanks for the extra light honey!!!" as he brushes past her in a mad dash to install TBC. Wow...that guy is REALLY into WOW.

(Meanwhile, Im still in line...my toe is green, and Im surfing thott and twilightonalex.com on my palm trio).

The next guy in line is a kid with a high pitched squeaky voice and his friend...they are in an embattled debate, raging on the heated and often controversal topic of whether or not shamans are the best class in all of warcraft, or if paladins are better (these unlucky souls OBVIOUSLY dont know druids are the best). The debate the finer points of each class with the thoroughness of Al Gore standing on a polar ice cap. I love talking about WOW, but cmon guys...did I stumble into a D&D convention or MAgic the gathering meeting somehow?

(I post two posts on the forum, both very explicit and detailed in their content about WOW. The hospital is my next stop, becuase Im pretty sure my foot is going to be amputated. Also, im very fortunate that were not having any more kids, becuase OTHER things are starting to freeze solid....................)

And out of the whole line...how many women? ZERO, goose egg, nada. Yet twilight is comprised of a male minority.........WTF mate?

I finally got home with my hot little package in my hand. Phew....i got it...........and I set the unopened box on top of the computer, brushed my teeth, and went to bed. But god dammit, I was one of the first people to get TBC!!!! Man am I cool!!!

ROFLMAO!!!! Too bad about the women not being there. There were about 10 women in line here, however they did make wish they were in game as their night elf characters. As I was standing in line I got to here complaints about rogues ganking them all the time and that they were overpowered. So, in stupidity, I chimed in that we weren't. Oh the looks of hate that I got. One guy asked me what server and the name of my character. When I told he shut he abruptly shut up.

I couldn't help but smile because he is obviously horde and I annihilated him sometime or other in the game. Had to have been more than once too because of how fast he shut up and wouldn't continue the conversation. Yeah, I asked him some questions and got zero answers. That's pretty sad...

LOL truly amazing your powers of observation are uncanny Arc you should use your super powers more often. And there were lots of girls at the Eb games down here I'd say about 50 or more I guess thats not lots out of 800-1000 but still a decent amount for me since I still think girls hate video games (at least all the ones I know) anyways yes there was quite an eccentric bunch of ppl or should I say quirky yes quirky is the better word. It was we shall say interesting indeed to actually see the faces of ppl from wow I tried my best to find somone from are server but i guess were too leet.

last night while u guys were standing in line i was having my beauty sleep....ill pick up a copy from the store sometime tomorrow if they have any left...if not im off to walmart :p

Arcdelad

a guy here at work went to best buy at open and it looks like they were going to sell out by noon at that location...

Quikslver

My epic story of the purchase is not nearly as exciting as yours.  In fact, mine is so boring that I don't even have the game yet.  My stupid school didn't deliver UPS ground to the mailboxes today (TODAY, OF ALL FREAKING DAYS) and the place to pick it up closed 30 minutes before they told me about it.  So now I have to wait like a good boy until tomorrow to pick it up.  I am so ticked off at my school... haha

i got my copy about 2 hours after 11am today from best buy - looked like they had plenty more. Funny cuz this best buy had one of the longest lines waiting for ps3. I guess they learned a long time ago about keeping a good stock on things like that :p

Well I pre-orded BC from EB games and was invited to the midnight launch. My sister even happened to be babysitting the 6 yr old that night, and the boys were at their dad's. But...I decided against queueing up at midnight for 2 reasons:

1) I like my sleep
2) I didn't want to be the only female over 40 in the queue with a bunch of teenagers- half of who may recognise their Maths teacher from school.
3) I wanted to prove to myself that I'm not addicted to WOW (lol- who am I kidding).

So I went at the civilised time of 11am this morning- there were only 3 in the queue and yes- I was the only femal in the shop- but that doesn't bother me- I used to be the only female engineer in a power station.

I am installing now...

Oh and there's the doorbell- sister over with kids- all will have to be postponed for later...

(Mutters to self- "no: you can't pretend you are not home")

Muridin

well, mine was a simple wait for my mum to go out and get the ordored copy from a local computer store as i didnt want the world to see my very little, but noticable spots

the car decided it wanted to die, so i had to wait untill my stepdad got home from work so mum could take his car..... he was late

so i had to walk three houses to my grandparents ( yes, they live on the smae street as me ) to get my grandad to drive his car to my place, so my mum could then drive it to the store

he wouldve driven me, but by 5:30 in the arvo, he wouldve had a few .... and i couldnt drive if he was sloshed

i finnaly got it, i couldnt go on the blessed net, and i had to wait til after tea, so i got on around 7pm local my time

although the wait was fine, it was the headache i got from the outlands thats killing me now

also, i had roast chook for tea ... mmmm *licks lips*

I love reading about all of your adventures - my life is sooooo dull in comparison.  ;)
I did not go to the midnight launch - maybe I should have gone just to see the entertainment.
I got mine this morning - still need to download it & hope to get into the game soon, work & rl are hindering my efforts  :-\

Arcdelad

Muridin

so uh....whats chicken?

A meat that tastes like many others, among them turtle, rattlesnake, and frog. ;)

I didn't make it to the midnight sale, either. The person behind the counter at the local Gamestop did say they had 150 people show up for it.

A young man (meaning in the 18-20 age range) in front of me was asking the clerk "What's this World of Warcraft I've been hearing about?" I stood by while the clerk did a decent job of telling the young man about our game. Finally I had to put my two cents in and added:

"Want to know what World of Warcraft really is? It's digital Crack!" :D
