Apparently VW will have a car in production by 2010 that will get 235 miles to the gallon.  Not much room for passengers in it :P

The cost will be around  $31,750-$47,622

Well I'm sure that'll be a great replacement for those suburbonites that drive their hummers to work 40 miles one way. Saves lots of gas.
