Come patch 3.0 my lock will be picking up and leveling inscription from 1-375.  According to the most recent info I have mats to get to roughly 375 but this is a relatively linear leveling path that doesn't allow for too much by-request crafting.  As such I'd like to request anyone's help who happens to have herbs lying about without any use for them.

This profession is much like Jewelcrafting in that you take herbs and mill 5 of them into 2-3 pigments for ink.  It differs slightly in that instead of one herb making one pigment, a group of herbs all mill to the same pigment and there are several groups of herbs:

Alabaster Pigment = Bloodthistle, Peacebloom, Silverleaf, Earthroot, Mageroyal
Dusty Pigment = Briarthorn, Swiftthistle, Bruiseweed, Stranglekelp
Golden Pigment = Wild Steelbloom, Grave Moss, Kingsblood, Liferoot
Emerald Pigment = Fadeleaf, Goldthorn, Khadgar’s Whiskers, Wintersbite
Violet Pigment = Firebloom, Purple Lotus, Arthas’ Tears, Sungrass, Blindweed, Ghost Mushroom, Gromsblood
Silvery Pigment = Golden Sansam, Dreamfoil, Mountain Silversage, Plaguebloom, Icecap
Nether Pigment = Dreaming Glory, Felweed, Flame Cap, Mana Thistle, Netherbloom, Nightmare Vine, Ragveil, Terocone, Ancient Lichen

If you happen to have spare herbs please send them to Eormenric.  The rarity of the herbs does not impact the quality of the results, so Felweed (being the most common) has the same results as Netherbloom (a rarer herb) so feel free to be cheap/thrifty. 

I encourage you to not buy your own herbs from the AH because they are expensive already and the price is only going up (especially for Silvery Pigment-level herbs).  Even if you have NOTHING for herbs I'll be doing what I can to provide whoever needs glyphs with glyphs (which will be all of you at some point...) from my current stockpile of herbs.

Each character has 3 MAJOR GLYPH spots and 3 MINOR GLYPH slots.  There isn't much info that I found for minor glyphs, but it appears as though all minor glyphs are "discovered" through research.  These are the ones I found listed (by class):

Death Knight: Glyph of...
Blood Tap. No longer damages you.
Corpse Explosion. A death cause by CE also makes that corpse CE. 6 sec cooldown
Death's Embrace. Death Coil refunds 20 Runic Power when used to heal.
Horn of Winter. Costs 10 less runic power.
Pestilence. Radius increased by 5.
Raise Dead. Generate 20 runic power whenever you summon a ghoul.

Druid: Glyph of...
Challenging Roar. Cooldown lowered by 30 sec.
Unburdened Rebirth. No longer costs a reagent.
Aquatic Form. Increases swim by 50% in said form.
Dash. Reduces CD by 20%.
Thorns. Lasts an hour when cast on yourself.
the Wild. Mark's mana cost reduced by 50%

Hunter: Glyph of...
the Pact. Range on AofPact increased by 15 yards.
Feign Death. Cooldown shortened by 5 sec.
Revive Pet. 100% push back avoidance.
Possessed Strength. Pets damage increased by 50% while using Eyes of the Beast.
Scare Beast. 75% push back resistance.
Mend Pet. Increases the pets happiness slightly

Mage: Glyph of...
Frost Ward. 5% more chance to reflect spells back.
Fire Ward. 5% more chance to reflect spells back.
Slow Fall. Removes reagent cost.
Penguin. Your polymorph spell is now a Penguin
Arcane Intellect. 50% mana cost reduction.
Frost Armor. Duration Increased by 30 min.

Paladin: Glyph of...
Lay on Hands. Increases mana restored by 20%.
Sense Undead. 1% more damage vs undead while Sense Undead is up.
Wise. Seal of Wisdom mana cost reduced by 20%.
Blessing of Kings. Mana cost of greater and normal reduced by 50%.
Blessing of Wisdom. Lasts a half hour when cast on yourself.
Blessing of Might. Lasts a half hour when cast on yourself.

Priest: Glyph of...
Shadowfiend. If it dies from damage you gain 5% total mana.
Levitate. Reagent cost removed.
Shadow Protection. Duration increased by 10 min.
Shackle Undead. Range increased by 5 yards.
Fading. 30% mana cost reduction on Fade.
Fortitude. 50% mana cost reduction.

Rogue: Glyph of...
Safe Fall. Increases its effectiveness.
Distract. Range increases by 5 yards.
Vanish. 30% increased movement speed while vanish is active.
Pick Lock. 75% shorter cast time.
Blurred Speed. Sprint lets you walk on water for the duration.
Pick Pocket. Range increased by 5 yards.

Shaman: Glyph of...
Astral Recall. Cooldown reduced by 2.5 min.
Renewed Life. Reincarnation increases all stats by 5% for 1 min.
Water Walking. Reagent cost removed.
Water Breathing. Reagent cost removed.
Ghost Wolf. Regenerates an "additional" (?) 1% of your maximum every 5 seconds.
Water Shield. Increases the number of bubbles by 1.

Warlock: Glyph of...
Curse of Exhaustion. Range increased by 5 yards.
Souls. Ritual of Souls soul shard cost removed.
Enslave Demon. Cast time reduced by 50%.
Kilrogg. Kilrogg's movement speed increased by 50% and it can fly where you can fly.
Drain Soul. Occasionally creates an extra soul shard.
Unending Breath. Targets of your Unending Breathe swim 20% faster.

Warrior: Glyph...
Victory Rush. Allows the use of Victory Rush for 5 more seconds.
Mocking Blow. 25% more damage.
Bloodrage. Health cost reduced by 50%.
Thunder Clap. Radius increased by 2.
Charge. Range increased by 5 yards.
Battle. Battle Shouts duration increased by 1 min.

There is a 20 hour CD on research so day 1 I'll be able to make one.

wowhead doesn't have the info on the minor glyphs but you can search for all of the major glyphs (most likely) to see what they do.  The major glyphs are all pretty nice and can customize your character quite a bit (at least the mechanics of your character).

I just have one question on how the glyphs work, is the effect always there or it's like a trinket and you have to use it and wait for cd?

Pally Glyph designer needs to lay off the sauce

Looking at other classes, I am very underwhelmed with glyphs:
Pick Lock. 75% shorter cast time
Thorns. Lasts an hour when cast on yourself.


Think I heard that druids are gonna have a Glyph of Bear Form that makes them a polar bear... which is also pure win.
I want Glyph of Avenging Wrath for pallies: Turns you into Old Greg when you use Avenging Wrath.

Glyphs are always active when you have them in glyph slots.  There will be an additional tab in your spellbook for glyphs come 3.0 and if you go to something called a "Lexicon of Power" (in every major city) you can place glyphs in the interface.

Don't worry about rare herbs Tol, the most common are just as valuable as the most rare...the only important thing is what pigments result from which herbs.  Also, don't take away from yourself.  I wouldn't mind "spare" herbs, but I don't want/expect people to empty their stash just because I asked for it...

The minor glyphs aren't meant to be powerful.  They are more "fun" things or can give you a (very) slight edge or even open up a bag slot.  Will be interesting to see what all the major ones all do.
No matter how often you refill the gene pool, there's always a shallow end.

None of the glyphs are made to be game-breaking in the least.  Like Koth said, the minor ones are more for fun than anything and really provide no tactical benefit at all.  Granted, some do provide decent benefits compared to other classes, but minor slots are meant to be just that, minor.  As for the major glyphs, they are made to give you some benefit in some way, but not something that will be game-breaking at all.  Looking at the hunter glyphs it seems as though you gain mana effeciantcy through most of them, and while that doesn't help your dps at all (unlike other dps-class glyphs) it does help some. 

Additionally, I don't know if you were chain-potting in the past to keep your mana up, but that is now a thing of the past.  Every fight you can use 1 potion, no more, so these may be more advantageous to you if you were doing that in the past.
