*FIXED* Server Sluggishness (1/8/09)

Summary:
Server performance was sluggish and some applications like the Signature Generator did not work properly.



Cause:

Server Side:
Someone in the datacenter was fussing around with some of the server network settings without permission and caused the resolv.conf file to be changed to invalid DNS servers. The server was unable to resolve name addresses and in turn performance on the website was slowed.



Fix:

The original settings to the host resolution configuration have been restored.

The parties responsible have been beaten severely both physically and mentally so that this incident doesnt happen again.
